It’s no secret that I like to change my hairstyles up. Quietly, I wish I was better at it but sadly the only hairstyle I’m halfway decent at pulling off is crochet hairstyles. Fortuntely for me, I happen to love the crochet look. It’s easy to change up, refresh and take out. It lasts up to 3 months and your hair selections can be pretty versatile.
Sure I like to dabble with units, weaves and braids but for the most part, I love my crochet installs almost as much as I love my natural hair itself.
I’ve been natural (off and on) for 20 years. It’s still a learning process figuring out how to care for my type 4c hair and how to love it and myself with natural hair. (Texturism is no joke, guys, even the strongest minds have succumbed to it from time to time.)
I am at a point where I know I’ll never put a relaxer in my hair again. If I ever have a daughter I won’t encourage her to change a thing about herself either. But I secretly wish I had all the answers and knew exactly what it took to maintain healthy and long natural hair.
I literally try everything.
For the most part, it’s fun to try out new products and brands, etc. But over the years I have gotten into a groove with certain types of conditioners, shampoos and curling custards. I still dabble with new hair care products but I have my favorite hair care products. What can I say, I’m a woman set in her ways.
Do you have a hair care routine? Do you stick to it or do you like to change it up from time to time? What’s your favorite protective hairstyle? How often do you change up your protective hairstyles?
I usually change hairstyles every 1-3 months, depending on how much time and money I have. Or how bored I am with a certain look. My husband says he’s never sure what to expect when he comes home from work because I’m constantly switching up my look.
Personally, I think that’s a good thing. I like to keep him on his toes. LOL.
I recently changed up my look again. This time, not too drastically, but I figured since it was hair wash day I should take the opportunity to try a new brand of Yaki hair. Check out my latest Youtube video and let me know what you think.
Ciao for now, lovelies!
