Skincare Practices for Cold Winter Months

Winter is coming! As we drift further into Autumn and closer to the winter season it’s a good time to start focusing on keeping our skin protected, moisturized, soft and healthy during those cold months. I’m a huge advocate for healthy, soft, glowing skin so I do my best to stick to a skincare routine that works for both the winter and warm months. Here are a few of my skincare practices for cold winter months.

One of the first things anyone covering this topic will tell you about proper skincare is to stay hydrated both inside and out. In addition to using the proper hydrating skincare products for your skin type, make sure you’re also drinking enough water on a daily basis. When your skin is hydrated it looks radiant and healthy. So remember to hydrate!

Now let’s start with the face. I guess I’ve always had a morning skincare routine but I leveled up when I started using Pixi Beauty products. I’ve been using Pixi Beauty skincare products for over a year now and I’ve pretty much loved every product I’ve tried. Pixi Beauty has gifted me a variety of products from their different collections such as cleansers, moisturizers, toners and serums. These products have greatly contributed to my improved, healthier, glowing skin.

I try a few different skincare brands from time to time but my go-to face wash, toners, moisturizers and masks are all from Pixi Beauty. I actually started using masks more regularly because of Pixi Beauty and I’m so glad I did. The Pixi Beauty Glow Mud Mask is just perfect for pampering your skin while taking a luxurious candlelit bubble bath. Your skin is left feeling soft and smooth and I can’t get enough of it. Pixi Beauty also has a very good leave-on mask that I been using for awhile and I’m obsessed. I recommend using an exfoliant and/or mask at least once a week.

One important thing I’m trying to remember to do daily is use an SPF. Even in the winter using sunscreen on your face is key. I use an SPF 50 in the summertime and then I switch to an SPF 15 or 30 in the winter months.
For the rest of body I like to layer my moisturizers. I start with body oil or baby oil then add a thick lotion or shea butter. Throughout the day I’m constantly washing my hands (gotta stay safe, guys) so I’m always reapplying lotion to keep my skin looking youthful, soft and supple. I also use a cream with retinol for my under eye area and I honestly believe it’s done wonders for me. If you’re going to be outside in the sun, I recommend wearing sunscreen on your body as well. It’s just the best thing to do. Protect your skin from the sun at all costs. Most skincare professionals recommend this so there must be something to it!

Oh! And don’t forget to use lip balm or vaseline to keep your lips as soft, supple and moisturized as the rest of your body. I love my skin so I do my best to take care of it. I hope you all are doing the same.
